REPORT OF THE AUDITORS
According to the Vermont Statutes, there are two primary duties of town auditors. The first is to "examine and adjust the accounts of all town and town school district officers and all other persons authorized by law to draw orders on the town treasurer." The second is to "report their findings in writing and to cause the same to be mailed or otherwise distributed to the legal voters of the town…." 24 V.S.A. §§ 1681, 1684
In line with the above, we have examined the cash receipts and cash disbursements of the Town of Eden for the twelve-month period beginning July 1, 2005 and ending June 30, 2006 and have verified the stated cash balance. In our opinion such statements present fairly the cash transactions of the Town Officers for the period then ended. Our examination, in the form of detailed financial statements for each department of the Town and School District, are presented here in the Town Report.
