GOVERNMENT & OTHER SERVICES:
Drought Beginning on 6/1/20: On November 12th, the USDA approved VT’s request for disaster declaration for Farmers due to the drought we have experienced this year. This designation opens up assistance to affected farmers through Farm Service Agency (FSA) emergency loans for crops affected in 2020. Farmers have 8 months from the date of the disaster declaration to apply for emergency loans. If you are a farmer in Lamoille County, or know one personally, take note of this important news! Interested and qualified farmers can reach out directly to the Lamoille County FSA office and speak with Heather Mateja, 802-888-4935 Ext 3002 or email heather.mateja@usda.gov
